The first international computer music festival in Iceland

The Kopavogur Music School has set up an advanced computer music studio, providing facilities to produce music and sound with computers. Among other things there are:

Facilities for music typesetting and printing.
Computer controlled midi sound generators and effects processors where music and sound can be precisely, but easily controlled.
Digital sound recording onto tape or computer.
Digital sound generation and processing in a computer, that can be used either to generate sound from scratch, or process an already existing sound in various ways.
Digital audio post-processing, f.ex. editing and "cleaning up" of old recordings.
Music programing, where a computer can be made to control various processes in music composition, as well as analyzing already composed music.

The objective is to make a new kind of Iceleandic musicians - Computer Musicians, using computers as their main instruments. To avoid all misunderstanding, the word is used strictly as a technical term - all musical directions and genres are equal and students are free to practise their own musical interests.
